I once read a book which was entitled Sad Chairs. It was so named as all the chairs that had been photographed were not looking too good, they were damaged, old, fallen over, had a leg missing or so on. So, while I was walking home the other evening I stumbled (stumbled being the operative word, I may have been a bit tipsy) across this sad chair. You will be amazed how many sad chairs you see in public once you have heard about them. I have seen dozens already. However I decided to take a photo of this one for a reason. It reflected a mood I was in that evening (after having gone to a horrendously pretentious network party) But then I thought, actually, this chair could just as easily be a happy chair if it was picked up, re-covered and varnished. And that really inspired me. So now if I'm ever down for no reason , ill remember to pick myself up.

Ah, poor poor sad chairs. Saw a cracker the other day. Must make sure to take a pic next time....
ReplyDeleteAs for the life lesson, I'll remember that, and bug you with it, as is my want and pleasure. xx
