1984 by George Orwell. What a book. I have been really inspired by this book and the themes that run through it. I am also amazed that it was written in 1949 and yet was so ahead of its time and it is still relevant today and probably forever. I have started a photography project based on this book as I find it so absorbing and i'd like to explore it through a different medium. It is also the first photography project I have started myself since finishing uni so i'm glad I have found something I am so passionate about. I am amazed that there is only one film (so far as i'm aware) out there. I would have thought there definately would have been a remake by now.. maybe 2084?
I have decided I would like get into a more creative job role so have been doing photography for a company and have just volunteered to help out production wise with a theatre company. Ultimately my goal is to build up my network skills as it is the film business I am interested in. Are you crazy I can hear you say?! well no. It has proven a bit of a hurdle so far as I have no contacts in film and so have been up against a bit of a high wall. However, through the power of the internet I have managed to find places where they advertise for runners, PAs etc. I have just started to reply to some of these so fingers crossed.
